I am a composer, improviser, and researcher from Cape Town, South Africa, whose work centers around gathering, recording, and improvising with found sounds and instruments. Drawing from theories of music cognition, sound- and media studies, I explore how embodiment, enculturation, and self-expression surface through listening, composing, and performing practices.

I am fascinated by the conceptual friction between performance and playback, and more abstractly, the relationship between experimentation and control in musical practice. I am also inspired by the inscriptive power of music—how bodies and technologies, through musical experiences, become temporally entangled archives of sound.
